Reporting To: Restaurant Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Purchaser/Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring all food, beverage, and non-food items required for the restaurant’s operations. This role ensures the timely availability of quality materials at the best possible cost while maintaining supplier relationships and adhering to company purchasing policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify and source reliable suppliers for food, beverages, kitchen equipment, and consumables.
  • Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising on quality.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain an updated vendor database.
  • Ensure all purchases comply with company procurement procedures and food safety standards.

2. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Coordinate with the storekeeper and chef to monitor inventory levels and forecast requirements.
  • Place timely orders to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Verify and approve purchase requests from various departments.
  • Conduct regular market price comparisons and identify cost-saving opportunities.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all items purchased meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
  • Work closely with kitchen and service teams to resolve quality or delivery issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of all purchases and supplier agreements.

4. Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with finance for purchase order approvals and payment follow-ups.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly purchase reports.
  • Support management in planning budgets and controlling food cost.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in purchasing within the restaurant, catering, or hospitality industry.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
  • Good knowledge of F&B products, perishables, and kitchen consumables.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/purchasing software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED5,000.00 per month
