You and the role

The Purchaser supports all procurement operations within BENTEC’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) function. The role requires a proactive, fast-acting, accurate and solutions-driven professional who manages the full procurement cycle — from RFQ issuance, supplier qualification and benchmarking, up to PO placement, logistics coordination, import/export control and compliance with national and internal regulations (incl. ICV, SCM Policies & Procedures). This position is essential for ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective and uninterrupted operations for all BENTEC projects in MENA.


Primary responsibilities

Procurement Operations

Manage the full purchasing cycle from RFQ technical/quality/price analysis negotiation
  • PO issuance in SAP.
  • Source, evaluate and qualify suppliers in alignment with SCM governance, localization requirements, and
    • BENTEC standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all SCM procedures, DOA, procurement policies and ICV regulations.
    • Execute urgent and ad-hoc requests with accuracy, speed and full documentation.
    • Coordinate with Engineering, Workshop, Projects, QHSE and Finance to ensure complete and correct technical data
    • Before PO submission.
    • Maintain an up-to-date vendor database and ensure all supplier documentation meets BENTEC standards.

Logistics & Import/Export

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with local and international freight forwarders.
  • Ensure full compliance with MENA customs regulations.
  • Follow up on shipments proactively, ensuring on-time delivery to support rig operations, repair, and overhaul
  • Schedules.

Supplier Management

  • Manage daily supplier interactions, build strong relationships, and maintain strict follow-up on delivery commitments.
  • Track vendor performance: OTIF, price accuracy, quality of materials, documentation compliance.
  • Escalate risks early and propose mitigation actions.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work daily with Operations, Engineering, Workshop teams, Finance and HSSET.
  • Ensure clear, concise and professional communication in English always.
  • Support the BU in delivering cost savings, localization, contract compliance and operational excellence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-time PO issuance.
  • On-time delivery from vendors (OTIF).
  • Cost savings and value engineering initiatives.
  • Accuracy of documentation and compliance with SCM procedures.
  • Vendor performance improvement and localization achievements.
  • Internal stakeholder satisfaction.


Experience

  • Strong knowledge of MENA local market, suppliers, and industrial landscape.
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken) is mandatory.
  • Hands-on knowledge of logistics, imports, exports, customs, documentation and delivery follow-up.
  • High level understanding of ABC compliance, API, PDO/Aramco, ISO standards, SCM governance, vendor qualification, ICV, and supply chain risk principles.
  • Previous procurement experience in oil & gas, drilling, energy, EPC or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Experience in international purchasing and logistics.
  • Strong vendor network within MENA is highly preferred.
  • Procurement experience in oil & gas, drilling, engineering, fabrication, or heavy industry.
  • Proficiency in SAP, SAP Ariba, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PDF workflows

Minimum qualifications – essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering and/or equal experience in SCM.
