A well-established industrial electronics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Purchasing Buyer to manage procurement of components, assemblies, and materials in support of production operations. This on-site position requires a hands-on, plant-floor presence and close collaboration with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure the uninterrupted flow of materials used in the manufacture of power-electronics products.
The ideal candidate combines strong ERP proficiency, electronics or electro-mechanical sourcing experience, and a proactive approach to supplier management and cost control.
Purchase electronic and mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and raw materials used in manufacturing.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery.
Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, negotiate pricing and terms, and process purchase orders in ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, or Made2Manage preferred).
Partner with Engineering to identify alternate components and support new product introductions.
Analyze market trends, material lead times, and availability to anticipate supply risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Monitor supplier performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Maintain inventory accuracy through proactive planning, scheduling, and cycle counting support.
Walk the production floor regularly to confirm material availability, resolve shortages, and support daily build readiness.
Participate in cost-reduction and continuous-improvement initiatives focused on procurement and materials flow.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving electronic components, PCBs, or electro-mechanical assemblies.
Strong ERP/MRP system background — Oracle, SAP, or Made2Manage preferred.
Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and vendor performance management.
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality in a fast-paced setting.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
