We are seeking a strategic and analytical Purchasing Manager who:

Position Overview

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading procurement strategy to ensure optimal product availability, cost control, and inventory performance. This role drives service performance, vendor partnerships, freight optimization, and data integrity while aligning closely with Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Finance.

Core ResponsibilitiesService & Fulfillment

  • Maintain and improve overall Fulfillment Rate.
  • Ensure alignment between Purchase Orders (POs) and Sales Orders (SOs) to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Anticipate demand shifts and proactively adjust purchasing plans.

Inventory Performance

  • Optimize Inventory Efficiency while maintaining high service levels.
  • Manage Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) to balance working capital and availability.
  • Reduce in-warehouse spoilage and control obsolete inventory levels through disciplined planning and lifecycle management.

Vendor & Cost Management

  • Lead proactive vendor communication to ensure reliability, responsiveness, and favorable terms.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and service expectations.
  • Drive freight optimization strategies, including effective use of 3PF, backhaul (BH), and delivered pricing models to improve landed cost.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance to align purchasing decisions with operational and financial goals.
  • Clearly communicate risks, opportunities, and performance trends.

Data & Systems Integrity

  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy (costs, lead times, item setup).
  • Leverage ERP/WMS tools and reporting to drive informed, data-based decisions.

Leadership Expectations

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-changing supply chain environment.

  • Balance short-term operational needs with long-term strategic objectives.
  • Lead with accountability, transparency, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management experience (food & beverage or CPG preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience managing inventory metrics and KPIs.
  • Experience negotiating vendor agreements and freight terms.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
