Job Title: Electrical/Instrument Inspector

Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar

We are looking for locally available candidates in Qatar with freelance visa only

Job Summary:

The Electrical/Instrument Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and executing inspection activities related to electrical and instrumentation systems during all project phases including procurement, fabrication, installation, hook-up, and commissioning. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards within oil and gas production facilities, especially onshore gas and LNG projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement QA/QC activities in accordance with approved QCPs, ITPs, procedures, method statements, and contract documents.
• Inspect subcontractors’ work and verify compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review and sign off on quality surveillance, inspection, and testing records.
• Ensure the use of up-to-date versions of project documentation (e.g., AFC drawings and specifications).
• Provide daily feedback and reports to the Quality Manager/Engineer on quality-related issues.
• Support commissioning and start-up teams in verifying readiness of electrical and instrumentation systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Trade Certification in Electrical and/or Instrumentation.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant inspection experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in onshore gas facilities, preferably in LNG projects.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical and instrumentation codes and standards such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX, IECEx-60079, etc.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems and their inspection requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and international codes.
• Sound knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Proactive in identifying and solving quality issues.
