We are looking for an experienced QC Manager with prior airport project experience. The candidate should be capable of handling overall QA/QC activities for both site and factory operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage overall QA/QC activities for factory fabrication and site installation works.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor project quality plans, inspection and test plans, method statements, and quality procedures.
- Coordinate with client, consultant, third-party inspectors, and internal departments on quality-related matters.
- Review material certificates, WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, inspection reports, and final turnover dossiers.
- Ensure stage-wise inspections are carried out for incoming materials, fit-up, welding, dimensional control, surface treatment, painting, dispatch, erection, and final handover.
- Monitor NCRs, corrective actions, root cause analysis, punch closure, and continuous improvement actions.
- Guide QC engineers and inspectors to maintain timely inspections, documentation, and reporting.
- Ensure full traceability and quality records for fabricated and installed steel components.
- Support project and production teams in resolving technical and quality-related issues without compromising compliance.
- Drive quality awareness and maintain readiness for audits, surveillance visits, and client inspections.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Prior airport project experience is mandatory.
- Strong experience in structural steel fabrication, blasting/painting, and site installation quality control.
- Sound knowledge of inspection requirements, welding inspections, dimensional control, coating inspections, and documentation control.
- Ability to handle overall QA/QC activities independently for both site and factory operations.
- Good communication and coordination skills with clients, consultants, and project teams.
Preferred Profile
- CSWIP/BGAS/NACE/FROSIO or equivalent inspection certifications are preferred.
- Good understanding of international codes/standards relevant to structural steel and coating works.
- Experience in preparing final QA/QC dossiers and managing authority/client audit requirements.
