Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports and statutory statements, managing reconciliations, conducting cyclical audits, and ensuring full compliance with UK taxation and financial regulations.

The successful candidate must have strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and prior experience working with a UK-based company. Proven experience handling UK taxation, including VAT and statutory compliance, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK regulations.
• Generate monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations.
• Maintain and update fixed asset registers.
• Manage purchase and sales ledgers.
• Produce annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor and oversee cash flow and bank balances.
• Liaise with Companies House, HMRC, and other regulatory bodies.
• Support Accounts Administrator duties, including payroll processing and related responsibilities.
• Assist with internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA/CA, ICMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience dealing with UK taxation and financial compliance.
• Previous experience working within a UK-based company (preferred).
• Strong ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Xero, or similar systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with managers, auditors, and external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
