Job Description-
To manage and harmonize QA activities in the warehouse s/he is in charge
-
To ensure the completeness and effectiveness of QA activities (Warehouse standard QA-ST-070, contractual requirements QA-ST-070b, IFS/BRC/FSSC, Halal and MAS food manufactured checklist requirements etc.)

Act as a Food Safety Team Leader in the warehouse s/he is in charge, including:
-
Help team to maintain MAS Food Requirements as per Warehouse Standard or certification status like HALAL/GFSI (if applicable)

Conduct follow up product safety and quality in the warehouse
-
Control the proper implementation of relevant regulations, international standard and internal operating procedures which are applicable for warehouse

Dealing with all product safety, quality, and hygiene related issues in the warehouse

Keep in touch with the local relevant authority organizations
-
Ensure compliance of statutory and regulatory requirements in scope of food safety and quality
Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Food Safety and QMS Development Activities:
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, HACCP study, Record formats
and Process flow of the warehouse.
- Development / Updation of RPs of products aligning with offer management and benchmarking
for evaluating and receiving of commodities from approved suppliers.
- Develop Warehouse Audit checklist as per Warehouse QA Standard and execute
assessments on monthly and quarterly frequency.
- Develop a system for Documentation and Data Control & ensure it’s implementation.
2. Manage and harmonize QA activities in the region s/he is in charge:
- Check & strengthen the implementation of METRO Corporate Standards, Pakistan Halal
standard and GFSI (if applicable) in warehouse.
- Conduct QA trainings and capacity building of warehouse staff to assume best practices.
Development of suppliers, supplier audit checklist and execute supplier audits as per risk
assessment.
- Contact with local authorities or service providers for general issues for the warehouse as s/he
is in charge.
- Coordinating with WH manager for the execution of other quality control activities like
Calibration, IPM, House Keeping, Waste, Testing of products, and water from external lab etc.
- Coordinate with HO for the execution of annual internal HO audit.
- Make the report of QA tasks as required by her/his superior.
3. Working as QA executive/ specialist in the warehouse s/he is in charge:
- Guide and coordinate with Warehouse Manager and other relevant employees to correctly
implement or apply applicable standards, on the operating procedures or work instructions of:
- Quality control at receiving
- Receiving, handling, storage, and dispatch of commodities
- Cleaning and disinfection Operation
- Pest control activity
- Personal Hygiene requirements
- Stock Rotation
- Labelling …. etc.
- Conducting shelf-life study and ensuring fumigation of stock
- Obtaining food authority license and product registrations with food authorities
- Follow up and conduct quality control/monitoring programs (sampling activity, physical,
sensory, etc.) on sourced products at the time of receiving to ensure the quality consistency of
the products
- Follow up other programs (equipment calibration, water testing, food safety & hygiene training,
health examination …) according to regulation requirements.
- Conduct regular and random checks during incoming, storage, processing or stored finished
goods according to relevant quality requirements to assure the compliance with defined
standards
- Keep in touch with local authority organizations to get the necessary information, supports or
documents as well as to follow up and carry out the designated tasks.
- Coordinating and responding to customer / store complaint issues, follow through corrective action in the warehouse with timely responses and solutions.
- Coordinate with operation staff to reduce overall customer complaints on product produced on each shift.
- Commit to self-development and enrichment of the knowledge and skills by planning and attending agreed training courses.
4. As food safety team leader, he/ she will have following responsibilities
- to manage a food safety team and organize its work,
- to ensure relevant training and education of the food safety team members
- to ensure that the food safety & halal management system and is established, implemented, maintained, and updated,
- Coordinate with HO for the execution of annual internal HO audit.
- Develop warehouse on MAS Food requirements / on GFSI scheme and coordinate with CB for the execution of external audit.
- to report to the organization's top management on the effectiveness and suitability of the food safety management system.
Qualifications
University degree (BS (Hons.) or M. Phil Food Technology / Total Quality Management) from a reputable University.

Experience

Minimum 2-3 years working in quality assurance/quality control in food and non-food business or relevant industries

Good knowledge in standards of quality & food safety systems (ISO 22000/9001, FSSC 22000, BRC Food, HACCP, IFS…) and Halal Food Management System.
