Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA/QC Inspector - Welding & Fabrication to oversee quality assurance processes across welding, fabrication, and surface preparation activities. This role involves close coordination with engineering, production, and inspection teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming materials against MRQ, LPO, and purchase specifications.
  • Maintain material traceability with unique identification numbers documented as per project requirements.
  • Ensure applicable WPS is available on the shop floor and conduct welder awareness training when required.
  • Carry out stage-wise inspections throughout fabrication processes in line with ITP/QCP and sign off as applicable.
  • Organize and coordinate Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing.
  • Perform inspections of blasting and painting activities as needed.
  • Assist QCE in preparing inspection and test packages and final documentation.
  • Support QCE/Welding Engineer in qualifying WPS, PQR, and WPQR while maintaining relevant records.
  • Coordinate with customer representatives, third-party inspectors, and class surveyors for quality-related requirements.
  • Ensure all work complies with HSE standards for safe and effective execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in QA/QC within welding and fabrication projects, preferably in oil & gas or heavy fabrication.
  • Certifications/Training: CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, or equivalent preferred; NDT Level II in RT, UT, MT, and PT desirable.
  • Skills: Proficient in MS Office and familiar with inspection reporting software.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of WPS, PQR, WPQR, welding inspection tools, NDT equipment, and coating inspection instruments.
