Quality Assurance Engineer

Full-Time | On-Site | Las Vegas, NV 89144 | Reports to: Quality Manager

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures compliance with established procedures, industry regulations, and customer requirements through document review, audits, and facilitation of risk, data, and root cause analysis. This role is hands-on and cross-functional, working closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain and improve our quality management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes, equipment standards, and product quality for existing and new products in a manufacturing environment.
  • Create and refine methods to inspect, test, and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products, and production equipment.
  • Lead root cause analysis, testing, and verification activities in response to nonconformances; develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming products; participate in Material Review Board (MRB) disposition decisions.
  • Manage supplier quality activities including onboarding, evaluation, and nonconformance resolution.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to analyze and verify the capability of production processes and vendor-supplied parts and services.
  • Conduct analysis of production data to identify trends and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with internal and external audits of the quality management system and company processes.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection procedures, work instructions, and process workflows.
  • Train and support production and administrative staff on quality processes and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and hands-on manufacturing quality experience will be considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a quality engineering or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO quality system standards (ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485).
  • Experience with NCRs, bills of materials, engineering blueprints/specifications, and inventory control systems.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (experience with Infor VISUAL is a plus).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings, technical plans, and reports.
  • Experience with the use and calibration of mechanical measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauge blocks, plug gauges, thread gauges, ring gauges, air gauges, and optical comparators.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and apply statistical concepts.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare reports and present information clearly.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Keyence inspection systems.
  • Familiarity with project management techniques and tools.
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, or similar).
  • Experience in medical device or aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role involves frequent sitting and walking with occasional standing, reaching, and lifting. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels. Personal protective equipment may be required in certain areas of the facility.

Location

This is an on-site position located in Las Vegas, NV 89144. Candidates must be able to commute to or relocate to the Las Vegas area prior to start date.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
