Quantity Surveyor

Required to join a contractor in Dubai working on the construction with multiple entities. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure prompt and regular submission of main contract Interim payment application along with supporting documents and negotiate with consultant to receive timely certification.
  • Preparation of Statement at completion and Final Account along with supporting documents
  • Advice and discuss with project manager and contracts manager on cost implication of variations
  • Prepare estimate for extra works, preparation of variations, negotiating and follow-up variations with consultant
  • Unit rate analysis and new rate build-up
  • Maintaining a variation log that tracks the current status of all variations, substantiation, negotiation and agreement of variations with the client/ consultant.
  • Attend monthly site meetings and internal site meetings
  • Prepare quantity take off from IFC drawings & BOQ preparation for sub-contract agreements.
  • Compiling enquiries for Sub-contractors’ and Suppliers’ to request for quotations (RFQ)
  • Analyze the changes of drawing for sub-contract payment based on actual progress
  • Field visits to evaluate and certify the quantity of work done before any certification of sub-contractor/supplier payment and conduct re-measurement/site measurement if required
  • Review, evaluation and certification of sub-contractor payment application.
  • Applicants should meet the following criteria
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of working with contractors in a QS role
  • Experience in the UAE is essential
  • Preference will be given to those candidates currently living in the UAE
  • Pre and Post Contract experience
  • Arabic Speaker is a must (Preferrable Female)
