Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, update, and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs), detailed cost estimates, and tender documents specifically for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
- Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure alignment with project specifications, scope, and cost effectiveness.
- Track and control project expenses, ensuring accurate recording and alignment with approved budgets.
- Identify, assess, and document variations and change orders; liaise with project and commercial teams for timely submission and approval.
- Validate subcontractor progress claims, negotiate variations, and support the preparation of final accounts and project close-out.
- Coordinate regularly with site engineers, planning, and procurement teams to ensure project cost alignment with execution strategies.
- Participate in value engineering reviews, providing cost-effective solutions without compromising on technical standards or project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all technical specifications, local authority requirements, and contract terms throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare interim payment applications and assist in monthly valuations, budgeting, and cash flow projections.
- Contribute to both pre-contract and post-contract processes including tender evaluations, risk identification, and contract award documentation.
- Provide regular commercial updates and cost reports to management and attend coordination meetings to support informed decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, RICS, or AIQS are preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant experience in MEP quantity surveying within high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or residential/commercial projects in the GCC region.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methodologies, and market rates.
- Proficient in quantity surveying software such as Candy, CostX, AutoCAD, and MS Excel.
- Familiar with international contract standards including FIDIC.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Capable of managing deadlines and handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
