Working Hours & Days 10 hours,6 days a week

Valid Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) certification /license issued by [Qatar MME ]

Job Purpose

To ensure the safe use of ionizing radiation sources during radiographic testing by implementing and monitoring radiation protection measures, ensuring compliance with national and international safety standards, and protecting workers, the public, and the environment from radiation hazards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the company’s appointed Radiation Protection Officer as per regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (e.g., FANR, PNRI, QCS, or relevant Radiation Protection Regulations).
  • Supervise radiography operations to ensure safe handling, transportation, storage, and disposal of radioactive sources.
  • Conduct risk assessments, radiation surveys, and dose monitoring of workers.
  • Maintain and calibrate radiation detection and monitoring instruments.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of personnel exposure, radiation surveys, and source utilization.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of radioactive sources at all times.
  • Provide radiation protection training and awareness to radiography personnel and other staff.
  • Investigate radiation incidents/accidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities regarding licensing, audits, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist in developing and updating Radiation Protection Programs (RPP) and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure the proper use of PPE, dosimeters, and shielding during radiography operations.
