Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Offshore RCM Manager to oversee revenue cycle operations for a U.S.-based Family Practice Groups. This role is responsible for managing offshore billing operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in outpatient RCM workflows, excellent leadership capabilities, and a strong understanding of family practice-specific coding, payer rules, and patient billing sensitivities.
The Offshore RCM Manager will serve as a key operational leader, ensuring that offshore teams support the client’s financial goals through effective claims processing, denial management, and patient revenue capture—while maintaining strict adherence to U.S. healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- RCM Oversight: Manage end-to-end offshore revenue cycle functions for a family medicine practice, including charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, denial management, accounts receivable follow-up, and patient collections.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop offshore team leads and staff across multiple functions; ensure adherence to quality and productivity targets.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and manage KPIs such as Clean Claim Rate, Days to Bill, Denial Rate, and Collection Rate. Implement action plans for underperforming areas.
- Workflow Alignment: Collaborate with onshore RCM and clinical staff to ensure workflows align with front-end processes such as eligibility verification, prior authorization, and point-of-service collections.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Enforce HIPAA compliance and client-specific SLAs. Conduct regular audits and QA checks to ensure claim accuracy and coding integrity, especially for E/M coding, preventive services, and chronic care management.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide routine reporting and updates to onshore leadership; proactively flag risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Training & Onboarding: Oversee training for new hires and ongoing development for existing team members to maintain high competency in family practice billing procedures.
- Technology Utilization: Ensure effective use of PM/EHR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, NextGen, eClinicalWorks) and RCM tools to streamline operations. Collaborate on automation opportunities where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing offshore teams.
- Specialized experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or other primary care billing.
- Strong understanding of outpatient coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) including E/M coding, wellness visits, immunizations, and chronic care coordination.
- Proficiency with RCM systems and billing software; experience with Athenahealth, eCW, or comparable platforms is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to lead remote teams, track performance metrics, and ensure accountability.
Preferred Attributes
- CPC or CPB certification (AAPC or equivalent) is a plus.
- Familiarity with U.S. payer policies, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage and major commercial payers.
- Experience with Accountable Care organizations (ACOs)
- Experience supporting multi-provider, multi-location family practice groups.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement data-driven improvements.
