R&D Section Head

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead laboratory activities in alignment with R&D strategic goals, ensuring timely and accurate testing and experimentation.
• Develop proprietary PVC compound blends and other polymer formulations tailored to market and customer needs.
• Provide expert technical support to the customer complaints team, including joint client visits to resolve issues and enhance relationships.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including up-to-date product data sheets and specifications.
• Conduct type testing and generate technical reports and papers to validate product performance and compliance.
• Plan and oversee daily departmental operations, ensuring optimal workflow and resource utilization.
• Monitor and maintain laboratory instruments, coordinating with maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety and occupational health standards, fostering a safety-first culture.
• Oversee calibration of equipment and scales in accordance with quality procedures.
• Manage operational needs of the department, ensuring availability of materials and resources for continuous improvement.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the R&D Manager in response to evolving business needs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 7–10 years in polymer compounding, specifically in:
• Peroxide XLPE (up to 36 KV), Sioplas XLPE, Low Smoke Halogen-Free (LSHF) HFFR
• PVC Compounds, Masterbatches, Semiconductive Compounds
• Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, compounding processes, and product testing standards.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
