Real Estate Sales Consultant duties and responsibilities

A Real Estate Sales Consultant collaborates with Real Estate Agents and Attorneys to negotiate the best deals for the clients and to facilitate the process of buying a property. Their day-to-day duties and responsibilities include:

  • Contacting potential clients to offer them property consultancy services
  • Preparing and presenting business proposals to convince clients to sign a consulting deal
  • Assessing a client’s property needs
  • Conducting market research to identify areas with increasing profitability and encouraging clients to invest
  • Analysing trends in housing data and identifying possible properties for clients
  • Writing reports for clients with factual conclusions
  • Showing commercial and residential properties to prospective buyers and advising the client on the value and suitability of the properties

They assist buyers with evaluating property conditions and doing comparative analysis to determine if the property is worth buying.

Entry-level Real Estate Sales Consultants need to have some customer service experience. Senior-level Real Estate Sales Consultants positions require between two to five years of real estate experience.

Real Estate Sales Consultant education and training requirements

A Real Estate Sales Consultant position requires a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE). However, due to the growing complexity and competition in the market, many employers prefer candidates who have higher qualifications from a university. Some employers prefer candidates with a bachelor’s degree in real estate, marketing, sales, business or a related field. Having a real estate licence is beneficial for Real Estate Sales Consultants, but is not a requirement.
