We are seeking a professional, dependable Receptionist / Medical Assistant whose primary focus will be front desk operations, with medical assistant experience highly preferred.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and understands that the front desk sets the tone for the entire patient experience.

The majority of responsibilities will be front-end/reception focused; however, candidates with prior medical assistant experience will be given strong preference and may assist clinically as needed.

Primary Responsibilities (Front Desk Focus)

  • Greet and check-in/check-out patients in a warm, professional manner
  • Answer multi-line phones and manage patient inquiries
  • Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Collect copays and balances
  • Maintain accurate patient demographic information
  • Scan, upload, and organize patient documents
  • Coordinate communication between patients and providers
  • Maintain front office cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with prior authorizations and referrals when needed

Medical Assistant Responsibilities (As Needed)

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs
  • Update medical histories and medications
  • Assist providers during exams and procedures
  • Perform basic clinical tasks (injections, EKGs, POCT, etc., if certified)
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supply inventory

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office setting
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinic environment
  • Basic knowledge of insurance verification and EMR systems

Preferred:

  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA preferred but not required)
  • Experience in primary care
  • Familiarity with Athena, eClinicalWorks, or similar EMR systems
