Department Overview

The Recruitment Department at CoxHealth plays a vital role in designing and facilitating the recruitment process for all non-physician and non-advanced practice provider positions across the organization. With more than 1,000 active requisitions at any given time, the team manages a wide range of responsibilities including requisition creation, candidate sourcing and screening, interview coordination, offer facilitation, and pre-boarding support. Recruitment serves as a central liaison between candidates, hiring leaders, and multiple HR functions to ensure a seamless hiring experience.

Operating within CoxHealth’s HR Service of Excellence model, the Recruitment team functions as both an operational partner and a strategic advisor. The department works closely with leaders and HR partners across Compliance, Employee Relations, and Compensation to ensure hiring practices align with organizational goals, workforce needs, and industry trends. Recruitment actively monitors vacancy trends, develops targeted hiring strategies, manages workforce pipeline initiatives such as international recruitment and contract labor programs, and supports workforce development efforts including internships, externships, and apprenticeship programs. The team also maintains CoxHealth’s applicant tracking system within Workday and manages the organization’s digital recruitment presence across platforms such as Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and the CoxHealth Careers site.

Internship Overview:

The Recruitment Analyst Internship provides hands-on experience supporting CoxHealth’s data-driven talent acquisition strategy. This internship is designed for students interested in workforce analytics, HR technology, and recruitment strategy. Interns will gain exposure to recruitment operations while developing skills in data analysis, reporting, and process improvement that support more effective and efficient hiring practices.

Interns will collaborate with recruiters, recruitment leaders, and HR partners to analyze hiring data, assist with recruitment reporting, and contribute to projects that improve recruitment performance. The role offers opportunities to translate recruitment data into actionable insights while learning how analytics informs strategic workforce decisions.

In addition to analytical work, interns will receive cross-training in recruitment operations to understand the full hiring lifecycle and how recruitment data supports operational decision-making.

Job Description:

This Internship runs from June 1st - August 7th.

In this role, Interns will have the opportunity to continue development and skills as it relates to their area of study through a robust ten-week experience. The Internship program allows individuals to work on meaningful projects, hone their leadership skills, and gain relevant experience as it relates to business/support functions within a Healthcare setting. The Internship program allows for students to earn valuable knowledge by working alongside staff members through the completion projects and various industry tasks.

Key Learning Opportunities and Responsibilities:
Recruitment Data & Analytics

  • Assist in building and maintaining recruitment dashboards and reports using Excel and other reporting tools.

  • Analyze recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, candidate pipeline activity, offer acceptance rates, and vacancy trends.

  • Support the development of reports that translate complex recruitment data into clear insights for recruitment leaders.

  • Help identify trends, risks, and opportunities within recruitment data.

Process Improvement & Strategic Projects

  • Assist with projects focused on improving recruitment efficiency and cycle times.

  • Support evaluation of recruitment initiatives and hiring events to measure effectiveness and return on investment.

  • Participate in projects related to automation, reporting improvements, and process optimization.

Recruitment Operations Exposure

  • Cross-train with Recruitment Specialists to understand the end-to-end recruitment process.

  • Assist with application review and candidate communication when appropriate.

  • Observe recruiter collaboration with hiring leaders to understand workforce planning and hiring strategies.

  • Support recruitment events, initiatives, or department projects as opportunities arise.

Workforce Strategy & Collaboration

  • Gain exposure to how recruitment teams partner with HR leaders to address workforce challenges.

  • Learn how recruitment metrics support workforce planning and organizational decision-making.

  • Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and strategy conversations.

Education:

  • Required: Currently enrolled in a program at an accredited university with a degree credit study emphasis in a related field OR recently graduated from a university with a degree in a related field
  • Preferred: Students currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master of Data Analytics, or related field.
