Our Platform is a fast-growing online shipping marketplace that connects individuals and businesses (importers, exporters) with reliable carriers for sea freight providers like Shipping lines/Shipping Forwarders/Shipping agents, road transport service providers and air freight service providers. We’re transforming the way to make shipping fast and easier, more transparent, and cost-effective.
We’re seeking a driven and results-oriented Shipping Salesperson to grow our marketplace by on boarding shippers (exporters/importers, retailers, manufacturers, etc.) and shipping service providers (Shipping lines/Shipping Forwarders/Shipping agents) and expanding our customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and reach out to potential shipping industry users (B2B clients) who could benefit from using the platform.
- Sales Outreach: Conduct cold calls, emails, demos, and in-person meetings to showcase the benefits of our shipping marketplace.
- Customer On-boarding: Guide new users through account setup, creating interactive profile on the portal and also how to utilise the different service available on the marketplace to promote their shipping business globally.
- Relationship Building: Maintain long-term relationships with clients, acting as their point of contact for shipping needs and platform usage.
- Feedback Collection: Gather client insights and feedback to inform product and operational improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to align sales strategies with customer needs and platform capabilities.
- Community Engagement: Build and nurture online communities of shippers and carriers. respond to comments on social media advertise, messages, and mentions in a timely, helpful, and brand-consistent manner.
- Campaigns & Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team on seasonal promotions, product development, and enhancing partner network. Create and manage Email-Campaigns using different tools like Mailchimp, Brevo, Mailjet etc.
- Customer Network: Existing client network in the logistics/shipping industry
- Industry Trends & Competitor Monitoring: Stay up to date with shipping, logistics, and e-commerce trends. Track competitor activity and plan the performance improvement.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with customer support, product, and sales teams to align messaging and leverage social insights for broader business goals.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or shipping tech
- Strong understanding of supply chain, freight, and shipping industry trends
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Familiarity with digital platforms, CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), and sales automation tools
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with international team and environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with influencer marketing or user-generated content (UGC).
- Basic SEO knowledge and familiarity with content marketing principles.
- Past experience growing niche or two-sided marketplaces via social.
