Restaurant Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Restaurant Accountant to manage daily financial operations for a busy restaurant in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate bookkeeping, timely reporting, cash control, vendor/payable management, payroll support, and compliance with Pakistan tax and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records (sales, purchases, cash receipts/payments, bank transactions).
• Reconcile daily cash register and POS reports with bank deposits and cash on hand.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations (bank, petty cash, suppliers).
• Manage accounts payable and receivable; process supplier invoices and vendor payments.
• Assist with payroll processing (attendance, overtime, deductions) and related statutory filings.
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Ensure compliance with Pakistan tax laws (income tax, withholding taxes, sales tax/SROs where applicable)
• Maintain inventory accounting for food, beverages and supplies; coordinate periodic stock counts and cost control analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants; prepare schedules and documentation.
• Maintain organized and accessible financial records and filing systems.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard cash and assets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, ICMA part-qualified
• 2–5 years accounting experience, preferably in restaurants, hospitality, or retail.
• Knowledge of Pakistani taxation, payroll rules, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, POS-integrated systems).
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work with kitchen/operations teams and vendors.
• Comfortable handling cash and implementing controls.
