Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Overview

Duties

• Greet guests with a friendly and positive attitude, making them feel comfortable and valued upon arrival
• Manage reservations efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring smooth seating flow
• Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or restaurant offerings
• Maintain waitlists during busy hours, providing accurate wait times and updates to guests
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service delivery
• Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, providing information about reservations or restaurant policies
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting area
• Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience for all visitors
• Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and guest service excellence

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Host/Host or in food service is highly preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Experience in hotel or hospitality environments is advantageous
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism
• Knowledge of food service operations and guest services best practices
• Exceptional phone etiquette and guest relations skills
• Basic understanding of serving procedures and restaurant operations
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain on your feet for extended periods during busy shifts
