Restaurant Manager

The Restaurant Manager is the person in charge of the Restaurant. Maintain complete control of the all operation at all times. Oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.

Will be responsible for the discipline of all the staff.

Must perform each duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner, whilst being customer and stakeholders focused.

OPERATIONS

  • In charge of overall operation activities.
  • Manage relation with the landlord.
  • In charge with the outlet lease, monitoring and executive.
  • Ensure efficient administration preparing and submitting reports on time as directed.
  • Make appropriate suggestions and recommendations to management for the general improvement of the venue.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the restaurant staff helping them with their duties and responsibilities.
  • Be passionate about customer service with the capability of delivering amazing hospitality to our guests.
  • Direct, control and co-ordinate all outlet activities ensuring the outlet meets the financial and guest/staff satisfaction objectives.
  • Maintain a high and visible profile on the day to day operations by being on the floor during peak service hours and checking every aspect of the business.
  • Oversee and prepare the operational standards of the restaurant ensuring that they are properly followed.
  • Liaise with kitchen, stewarding, bars, reservations and maintenance to ensure that the operation runs smoothly in areas of joint responsibility.

  • Maximize revenue in the outlet by implementing up-selling procedures and training staff on up selling.
  • Monitor and control the fire safety and the fire safety training of all food and beverage hosts.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling the Food and Beverage inventory and participate in inventory taking.
  • Conduct frequent Front and Back of house checks ensuring mise-en-place, service procedures, standards of cleanliness and hygiene, repair and maintenance, host grooming and manning levels are in order and take appropriate action where necessary.
  • Contribute to the morale and team spirit of the venue by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues.
  • Is fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language.
  • Polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the venue is represented.
  • Attend meetings and training.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of the local law.
  • Interact with guests actively soliciting feedback.
  • Coach, counsel, discipline and develop staff.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • In charge of the overall financial performance of the outlet.
  • Responsible for the outlet profitability.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling the financial performance of the outlet, controlling costs and expenses.
  • Work closely with the Accounting/Finance department to manage the overall financial related matter from budgeting, P&L reviews, payments to managing suppliers etc…
  • Review and conduct P&L analysis and coordinate with Accounting/Finance department

QUALITY AND SERVICE

  • Direct and control all restaurant staff to ensure that all operational matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Make sure that the SOP are correctly followed.
  • Oversee the quality of the food, the service and of the outlet in general.
  • Ensure and maintain cleanliness in all areas of outlet.

SALES AND MARKETING

  • Assist in the planning and execution of promotional activities.
  • Establish and executive marketing plans.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party, agency, PR for marketing ideas, plans or anything related to marketing strategies.
  • Seek promotions, deals or offers with 3rd party companies such Groupon, Zomato etc…

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT:

  • Screen, interviews and selects potential staff members to the department.
  • Develop and recommend appropriate training to meet departmental needs.
  • Encourage, develop and manage effective employee relations throughout the establishment.
  • Train Staff selected where needed, and ensure regular training in line with Comida Policies
  • Works closely with the Human Resources Manager on the following human resources related tasks:
  • Performance appraisals
  • Counselling
  • Discipline and grievance
  • Employee relations
  • Wage and salary administration
  • Compensation and benefits

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Seek further F&B opportunities that may benefit the Comida portfolio
  • Entertain requests to grow the business
