JOB DESCRIPTION – RETAIL OPERATIONS OFFICER

Position Overview

The Retail Operations Officer is responsible for supporting and executing day-to-day retail operations across all assigned outlets by ensuring operational efficiency, SOP compliance, inventory accuracy, sales support, and customer service excellence.

This role works closely with store teams and directly supports the Retail Operations Manager in driving store performance and maintaining operational standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations Support

  • Assist in managing day-to-day retail store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, operational policies, and retail standards.
  • Monitor store opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, merchandising, and display standards are maintained.
  • Conduct regular store visits and operational checklists.

Sales Monitoring & Execution

  • Track daily sales performance and store achievements.
  • Support implementation of sales campaigns, promotions, and launches.
  • Assist underperforming stores through action planning and operational support.
  • Monitor KPIs including sales achievement, average basket size, and conversion.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment with relevant departments.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy across stores.
  • Assist in stock audits and cycle counts.
  • Track fast-moving, slow-moving, and near-expiry inventory.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and shrinkage issues.

Staff Coordination

  • Coordinate with store teams to ensure discipline and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, and shift adherence.
  • Support onboarding and operational training of retail staff.
  • Escalate staffing or performance concerns to Retail Operations Manager.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Ensure customer service standards are maintained across stores.
  • Resolve or escalate operational customer complaints.
  • Monitor customer feedback and suggest improvements.

Reporting

Prepare and submit reports including:

  • Daily sales reports
  • Inventory status reports
  • Stock variance reports
  • Store audit reports
  • Attendance and productivity summaries
  • Weekly operational performance reports

Compliance & Loss Prevention

  • Monitor cash handling compliance and POS accuracy.
  • Ensure operational compliance across assigned stores.
  • Assist in minimizing shrinkage, theft, and operational losses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of retail/store operations experience.
  • Experience in supplements, FMCG, pharmacy, or fitness retail preferred.
