REVIEW MANAGER / QUALITY CONTROL LEAD

Position Title: Review Manager / QC Lead
Department: Legal Services / eDiscovery Operations
Location: Karachi, Pakistan
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift Timing: Evening/Night Shift (7:00 PM – 4:00 AM PKT) to align with US Eastern/Pacific business hours
Reports To: Director of Operations / Project Director

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Review Manager/QC Lead to oversee document review operations at our Karachi offshore center. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing teams of 5-10+ document reviewers, ensuring quality standards, maintaining client satisfaction, and serving as the primary liaison between offshore review teams and US-based project managers, attorneys, and clients.

This is a client-facing leadership position that requires working evening/night shifts to maintain real-time communication and coordination with US-based stakeholders during their standard business hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor teams of 5-10+ document reviewers across multiple concurrent projects
  • Conduct daily team briefings, training sessions, and calibration exercises
  • Assign work queues, monitor reviewer productivity, and balance workload distribution
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and professional development guidance
  • Handle performance management issues including corrective action and escalations
  • Foster collaborative team culture and maintain high morale during demanding projects
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new document reviewers in coordination with HR

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree from HEC-recognized university in Pakistan
  • LLM (Master of Laws) or equivalent advanced legal degree strongly preferred
  • Specialization in corporate law, litigation, or related fields is a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on document review experience in eDiscovery or litigation support
  • At least 1-2 years in quality control, team lead, or supervisory capacity
  • Proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-quality results
  • Experience working with US law firms, corporate legal departments, or eDiscovery vendors
  • Direct client-facing experience with ability to manage expectations and relationships

Language & Communication Skills:

  • Excellent English proficiency (verbal and written) at native or near-native level
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Professional business communication style appropriate for client interactions
  • Ability to draft clear, comprehensive guidelines and training materials

Technical Skills:

  • Expert-level proficiency with at least one major eDiscovery platform (Relativity strongly preferred)
  • Relativity Certified Administrator or equivalent platform certification highly desirable
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for reporting and analytics
  • Familiarity with legal technology ecosystem (TAR, analytics, AI review tools)
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software platforms and tools

Work Schedule:

  • Must be available to work evening/night shifts (7:00 PM – 4:00 AM PKT or similar) consistently
  • Must be available for real-time communication with US teams during their business hours (EST/PST)
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule for cross-coast coverage (East Coast vs. West Coast hours)
  • Willingness to work extended hours during critical project phases
  • Availability for weekend work or adjusted schedules based on client needs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of document review experience with 2+ years in QC/management
  • CEDS (Certified E-Discovery Specialist) or ACEDS certification
  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) or equivalent platform certifications
  • Multiple platform expertise (Relativity + Everlaw/DISCO/Nuix)
  • Experience with AI-assisted review, TAR 1.0/2.0, and predictive coding workflows
  • Enrollment with Pakistan Bar Council or equivalent professional body
  • Prior experience establishing or scaling offshore review operations
  • Experience with eDiscovery project management tools (Asana, Jira, etc.)
  • Background working with Big Law firms, Fortune 500 corporate legal departments, or major eDiscovery service providers
  • Demonstrated track record of client retention and satisfaction
