Rigger – (Abu Dhabi, UAE)

A Rigger is responsible for preparing, assembling, and managing lifting and rigging operations to safely move heavy equipment and materials at project sites. The role requires strict adherence to UAE safety regulations (including ADNOC, HSE, and OSHA standards) and coordination with crane operators, signalers, and site supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

· Inspect lifting equipment, slings, shackles, hooks, chains, and accessories before use.

· Set up rigging gear and prepare loads for lifting in accordance with method statements and lifting plans.

· Communicate with crane operators using standard hand signals and/or radio communication.

· Secure and balance loads to ensure safe lifting, transportation, and placement.

· Assist in preparing and reviewing lifting operations and risk assessments.

· Maintain proper records of lifting equipment inspections and certifications.

· Follow ADNOC/ADWEA/ADPC safety guidelines depending on project requirements.

· Ensure compliance with site HSE rules and immediately report unsafe conditions.

· Work closely with lifting supervisors and engineers during critical lifts.

Skill & Competencies:

· Strong knowledge of rigging techniques and load calculations

· Ability to interpret lifting plans and engineering drawings

· Proficiency in hand signals and communication with crane operators

· Good physical fitness and ability to work in high-temperature outdoor environments

· Strong understanding of HSE procedures and hazard identification

· Teamwork, coordination, and attention to detail

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or technical certification

· Certified Rigger Level 1/2/3 (TUV, ADNOC-approved, or equivalent)

· Valid UAE lifting/rigging competency certificate (preferred)

· Minimum 2 years of experience in rigging (oil & gas experience is often an advantage)

· Basic knowledge of English; Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is a plus
