Role Overview:
The Road Freight Manager is responsible for developing and growing the road freight forwarding business in support of the company's business and growth plans. Ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods and products to customers. Developing and implementing strategies to reduce costs, improve efficiency and increase customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the end-to-end road freight operations, including booking, documentation, customs clearance, tracking, and delivery.
• Coordinate with internal teams, such as sales, customer service, and warehouse, to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution of airfreight processes.
• Take full ownership of and drive all our road freight activities in UAE.
• Develop plans to grow the road freight business in UAE in a profitable manner and constantly monitor progress.
• Oversee, develop and manage all road freight operations.
• Identifying new opportunities to grow and expand the customer base, actively engage with customers to develop our business.
• Provides consistent customer experience to carrier & shippers - considering local requirements as needed.
• Actively manage key stakeholders on various levels - Country Management, regional management, own team, shippers & carriers to drive the success.
• Manage country teams who perform day-to-day responsibilities such as customer service, incident management or carrier review meetings.
• Analyze daily, weekly and monthly development of key KPIs.
• Establish regular transporter meetings and ensure that these are conducted for all key carriers.
• Ensure compliance with company/ local statutory obligations and legislation related to safety, health, security, environment & quality.
• Developing and implementing strategies to reduce costs and improve service quality.
• Managing budgets for transportation operations, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and rebates.
• To negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers, securing the best value for the company.
• Monitoring and evaluating transporter performance and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to transportation.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
• Monitoring Transporters' driver performance and ensuring that they are following safe driving practices.
• Analyzing road freight data and developing reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
• At least 10 years of experience in road freight operations, preferably in a managerial role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
• Proven experience in road freight operations management, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of international airfreight regulations, customs procedures, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal). Additional languages may be advantageous.
• Fluency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general internet navigation and research skills.
