Position: Rotating Engineer

Location: Doha Qatar

Job Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of engineers and technicians focused on the operation, maintenance, and repair of rotary and static equipment.

Coordinate with other engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities for junior engineers and technicians within the team.

Oversee the design, selection, and specification of rotary and static equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, and pressure vessels.

Review and approve technical drawings, equipment specifications, and related documentation to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.

Lead the installation and commissioning of rotary and static equipment, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.

Supervise and manage the commissioning process for newly installed equipment, ensuring optimal operation.

Develop and implement maintenance strategies for rotary and static equipment to ensure long-term reliability and minimal downtime.

Oversee preventive maintenance programs, including inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, to ensure peak equipment performance.

Continuously monitor the performance of rotary and static equipment, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.

Lead root cause analysis and failure investigations, recommending corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to maintain high safety standards.

Develop and implement safe working practices and standard operating procedures for equipment operations.

Manage budgets for equipment maintenance, upgrades, and repairs, ensuring adherence to financial parameters.

Source and procure materials, parts, and services for equipment, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Provide expert-level troubleshooting support and guide teams in diagnosing and solving complex technical issues.

Ensure timely and accurate documentation of maintenance logs, performance records, and equipment specifications.

Provide regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and any issues that require attention.

Train and develop team members to ensure up-to-date knowledge of equipment and safety regulations.

Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards.

Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to improve service quality and efficiency.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Relevant professional certifications or additional training in rotary and static equipment engineering, maintenance, or reliability are advantageous.

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of rotary and static equipment, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior engineering role.

Experience working with equipment in industries such as oil and gas, power generation, chemical processing, or manufacturing.

Strong understanding of equipment specifications, performance metrics, and lifecycle management.

Experience with equipment reliability programs, performance monitoring, and optimization techniques.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.

In-depth technical knowledge of rotary and static equipment, including pumps, turbines, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and valves.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with a proven ability to solve complex technical issues.

Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, external contractors, and clients.
