Safety Officer

We, at Emarat Aloula are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to support the implementation of our HSE Management System across ongoing construction and infrastructure projects (water treatment plants or sewerage treatment plants). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in site safety supervision, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of UAE regulatory requirements, OSHAD standards, and TRANSCO guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment Compliance

• Ensure compliance with OSHAD, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and company HSE policies.
• Assist in implementing the project-specific HSE Plan, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor safe work practices, housekeeping, equipment condition, and PPE compliance.
• Prepare and deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions for all site personnel.
• Ensure emergency procedures are followed and conduct drills as required.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Maintain records of incidents, near-misses, inspections, audits, equipment checks, and safety observations.
• Assist in incident investigations and preparation of corrective and preventive action plans.
• Submit daily/weekly HSE reports to the Project HSE Lead / HSE Manager.

Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and the HSE team to enforce safety guidelines.
• Support in evaluating subcontractors’ HSE performance as needed.
• Ensure First Aid, Firefighting, and emergency response equipment is regularly inspected and functional.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or related field preferred but not mandatory).
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (mandatory).
• OSHAD Registration Card (advantageous).
• Valid First Aid and Firefighting Training Certificates.
• Minimum 3–7 years UAE experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, utilities, especially water treatment plants or sewerage treatment plants.
• Strong understanding of HSE procedures, hazard identification, risk control, and emergency protocols.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication skills (oral & written English).
• Strong personality with high influencing capability.
• Ability to conduct safety briefings and training.
• Good planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• IT/PC literate (MS Office, report writing).
• Proactive and safety-driven mindset.
