Safety Officer

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer with a hospitality background to ensure a safe and healthy environment for guests, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with hospitality industry regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies within the hotel premises.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments across all departments including kitchens, restaurants, housekeeping, engineering, and public areas.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, fire safety, and local regulatory requirements.
• Monitor adherence to HACCP standards in food preparation and storage areas.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Conduct safety training and awareness programs for hotel staff.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures including fire drills and evacuation plans.
• Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Liaise with local authorities and auditors for safety inspections and certifications.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of chemicals and hazardous materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in safety management within the hospitality industry (hotel, resort, hospital, malls or restaurant).
• Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP, fire safety systems, and emergency procedures.
• Strong communication, training, and reporting skills.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with hotel safety management systems.
• Familiarity with ISO standards ISO 45001).
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
