Safety Officer ( ADNOC EXPERIENCE )

Job Title: Safety Officer

Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Job Purpose:

The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring all health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards at the workplace. The role ensures compliance with UAE labor laws, municipality regulations, and international safety standards to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for employees and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce company health and safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with UAE safety laws, civil defense, and municipality regulations.
  • Carry out risk assessments, hazard identification, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports with root cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Organize regular safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for all workers.
  • Maintain and update HSE records, permits, and certifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance.
  • Conduct emergency drills, fire safety checks, and first-aid readiness.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports to management.
  • Ensure all safety equipment, PPE, and signage are available and in good condition.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction/general contracting industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to train and influence workers and subcontractors.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
