Safety Officer (Implementing Safety Compliance across the Company)

Job Position: Safety Officer (Male)

Job Purpose:

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance with legal, regulatory, and company safety standards across all departments. The role involves identifying risks, developing preventive measures, conducting trainings, and enforcing safety protocols to create a safe and compliant working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s overall Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety laws, standards, and certifications (e.g., ISO 45001, OSHA).
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Conduct safety training, drills, and awareness sessions for employees at all levels.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety practices.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with department heads to integrate safety into daily operations and project plans.
  • Lead emergency preparedness programs, including fire drills and evacuation planning.
  • Report safety performance indicators (KPIs) to management and recommend improvements.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications preferred (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).
  • 2–5 years of experience in HSE / Safety Officer role (manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and training delivery skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple departments and influence safety culture at all levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety management systems.
