Job Title: Sales Engineer
Location: Chennai – 2 weeks/month)

About the Role

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to manage sales and customer relationships across West and North India. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional who enjoys client interactions, technical discussions, and business development in a fast-paced, small-company environment. Approximately 70% of this role involves direct customer engagement—visiting clients, building relationships, participating in trade shows, and addressing technical queries.

You will be reporting directly to the Sales Manager.

Product Portfolio

In this company's tooling components, offering over 100,000 industrial parts such as:

  • Quick change tooling plates & accessories
  • Hoist rings, toggle clamps, handles, knobs
  • Ball & spring plungers, threaded inserts
  • Clamp straps, drill bushings, alignment pins
  • Fixture bases & power work holding devices

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales growth and meet/exceed targets.
  • Design and execute strategic business plans to expand the customer base and ensure a strong market presence.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships by understanding client needs.
  • Present accurate sales, revenue, and expense reports along with market forecasts.
  • Identify emerging markets, new business opportunities, and track competitor activities.
  • Represent Carr Lane at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and seminars.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience: 6+ years in Tooling, Jigs & Fixtures, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong ability to manage the sales process from prospecting to closure.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in English & Hindi is mandatory.
  • Comfortable with extensive travel (approx. 2 weeks/month).
  • Exposure to handling customers in industrial, aerospace, or automotive sectors preferred.
