As a Sales Engineer for Waterproofing Applications, you are the crucial technical bridge between our advanced product lines and our clients' complex project needs. You will not just sell products; you provide consultative, value-driven solutions that solve critical waterproofing challenges. This role is perfect for someone who is equally comfortable discussing chemical properties with a project architect and negotiating a contract with a general contractor.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Business Development (60%)
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within your assigned territory, targeting architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to close.
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals that clearly articulate the value and ROI of our solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and hands-on trials to showcase product performance and ease of application.
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and profitability goals.
Technical Consultation & Specification (30%)
- Serve as the primary technical expert for clients, providing guidance on the selection and application of waterproofing systems (e.g., liquid-applied membranes, sheet membranes, cementitious coatings, drainage boards).
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and details to recommend the most effective and cost-efficient solutions.
- Work directly with architectural and engineering firms to get our products specified in project drawings and documents.
- Conduct site visits to perform condition assessments, diagnose waterproofing failures, and propose remedial solutions.
Collaboration & Support (10%)
- Collaborate closely with our internal product development, marketing, and customer service teams.
- Provide feedback from the field to help guide product development and marketing strategy.
- Mentor and train distributor and contractor partners on proper product application and best practices.
Who You Are (Qualifications & Experience)
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Chemistry, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical sales, sales engineering, or a highly technical role within the construction industry, specifically with building materials, sealants, or waterproofing systems.
- Strong understanding of building science, construction methods, and the building envelope.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse client base.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, details, and specifications.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel within the territory (up to 50%) and a valid driver's license.
