Job Purpose:
To develop and expand the company’s customer base by identifying new business opportunities, maintaining existing client relationships, and achieving sales targets within the freight forwarding and logistics segment. The role involves promoting the company’s sea, air, and land freight services while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for freight forwarding (Air, Sea, and Land).
- Generate leads through networking, market research, customer visits, and cold calling.
- Prepare and deliver customized sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with shipping lines, airlines, and logistics partners.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Manage existing key accounts to ensure repeat business and client retention.
- Understand customer requirements and provide the most suitable freight and logistics solutions.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding pricing, bookings, and shipment updates.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly with coordination from operations and documentation teams.
3. Other Responsibilities
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify business opportunities.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to management for service improvement and pricing strategy.
- Coordinate closely with the operations and documentation team for smooth handling of shipments.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of quotations, contracts, and customer records in the CRM system.
- Support credit control in following up on client payments when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–5 years of sales experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics industry.
- Experience in handling both import and export freight (Air and Sea).
- Existing client base in freight forwarding is an added advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- Good understanding of international trade, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
- Familiarity with freight operations and logistics documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
