Phlebotomist & Sample Logistic Coordinator- Intern – Mumbai (Full-Time)

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist & Sample Logistic Coordinator to join our healthcare operations team in Mumbai. This dual-role position involves both clinical sample collection and managing the end-to-end logistics of sample transportation. The ideal candidate should possess strong phlebotomy skills and operational coordination capabilities to ensure smooth and timely handling of patient samples.

Responsibilities:

Sample Collection (Phlebotomy):

  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples from clinics, hospitals, or via home visits.
  • Collect other biological specimens as needed (e.g., urine, swabs).
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, informed consent, and adherence to hygiene protocols.
  • Label and document all collected samples with complete accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and workspace.
  • Provide a calm and professional experience to patients during the collection process.

Sample Coordination & Logistics:

  • Coordinate and schedule sample pickups across various collection points.
  • Ensure proper packaging, storage, and transportation of samples per defined protocols.
  • Track sample movement in real time and ensure timely delivery to the designated laboratory.
  • Liaise with courier partners and internal teams to manage any delays or issues in transit.
  • Maintain detailed digital records of all logistics activities.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Receive and verify specimens against lab requisitions.
  • Enter patient and specimen details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Process and prepare specimens (e.g., centrifugation, aliquoting, storage) as per guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and support quality control protocols.
  • Coordinate with lab teams to resolve any discrepancies related to samples or data.
  • Follow all relevant biosafety and infection control procedures.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Certification in Phlebotomy, DMLT, or relevant healthcare qualification.
  • Prior experience in sample collection and logistics is preferred; trained freshers may also apply.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and biomedical waste disposal.
  • Familiarity with mobile applications and basic computer tools for tracking and updates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel locally within Mumbai for home sample collections when needed.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. Candidates should be proactive, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹275,000.00 per year
