Scrub Nurse

Job Summary

The Scrub Nurse is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment in the Operation Theatre and assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment in compliance with NABH standards and hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Operative Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operation Theatre prior to surgery as per the surgical schedule.
• Ensure all surgical instruments, linens, and consumables are sterilized and available.
• Perform surgical hand scrub and maintain strict aseptic techniques.
• Arrange instruments and equipment according to the surgical procedure.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, and consent as per safety checklist.
• Assist in patient positioning and skin preparation.

Intra-Operative Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field throughout the surgery.
• Anticipate surgeon’s needs during procedures.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgery.
• Monitor sterility and report any breaks in aseptic technique immediately.
• Handle specimens correctly and send them to the lab with proper labeling.

Post-Operative Responsibilities

• Perform final surgical counts and ensure documentation.
• Assist in dressing and transfer of patient to recovery room.
• Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per policy.
• Clean and prepare OT for the next procedure.
• Send instruments for cleaning and sterilization.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,837.29 - ₹30,931.16 per month
