We are seeking an Associate Engineer to join our Finance &amp; People Technology team. Reporting into the Finance &amp; People Technology Lead, you'll join the team as an associate cross-platform engineer supporting the day-to-day engineering, operation, and continual improvement of the SaaS estate that underpins both the Finance and People/HR domains.

Workday Enterprise Management Cloud sits at the core of both estates &mdash; but it's fundamentally one platform among many. Role Responsibilities

About the Role</h3>

This is an exciting opportunity for a Python Software Engineer with approximately five years of experience to deepen their current expertise in commodities trading, while becoming a key member of our Risk, Finance &amp; Compliance technology function within the Engelhart Technology team.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and offering direct exposure to stakeholders &amp; business users, this role will give someone the opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of initiatives, from requirements gathering and solution design through to production deployment and ongoing support.

Working in close collaboration with a small, dynamic team, this role provides a unique opportunity to influence Engelhart's technology landscape and deliver initiatives with tangible business impact. This team is delivery-focused, fostering strong collaboration, open technical and business discussions, as well as a culture of continuous improvement. The ultimate objective is to enable informed decision-making across our business through reliable, scalable and well-designed technology solutions.

This Software Engineer with have the following responsibilities;
<ul>
<li>Designing, developing, maintaining and enhancing in-house systems, as well as integrations with third-party platforms.</li>
<li>Working closely with Engelhart's Risk &amp; Finance teams to gain a strong understanding of business requirements, translating them into well-defined technical solutions.</li>
<li>Providing technical support to Risk, Finance and Front Office users - particularly in the use of shared internal Python libraries, cloud infrastructure and access to enterprise data.</li>
<li>Contributing to the ongoing evolution of Engelhart's technology platform, including architectural design, identification of improvement opportunities and proposal of scalable solutions.</li>
<li>Designing and implementing new data visualisations for internal dashboards and reporting tools.</li>
<li>Performing data cleansing, enrichments and transformation using efficient and scalable tools and techniques.</li>
<li>Developing and maintaining data integration services and query interfaces for internal consumption.</li>
<li>Participating in, and contributing to, technology projects that support key business initiatives.</li></ul>

About You</h3>

This individual will be a strong Python developer with current experience in a commodities trading environment.
In addition to commodities experience, which is an essential criteria to be considered for this role, we believe the following technical skills &amp; experiences will best set someone up for success at Engelhart;

Technical Skills:
<ul>
<li>Strong proficiency in Python, including common analytical and visualisation libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Plotly).</li>
<li>Experience building APIs using Python frameworks, preferably FastAPI.</li>
<li>Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, Cognito, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, CloudWatch and CDK.</li>
<li>Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).</li>
<li>Understanding of parallel and distributed data processing concepts.</li>
</ul>
Soft Skills:
<ul>
<li>Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.</li>
<li>A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and experience working with distributed or remote teams.</li>
<li>Willingness to share knowledge, mentor others and continuously learn from peers.</li>
<li>Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.</li>
</ul>
Additional Experiences that are not necessary, but highly desirable:
<ul>
<li>Experience designing or building event-driven architectures.</li>
<li>Experience with applying AI tools, large language models and agent-based workflows to improve business processes, developer productivity or data analysis.</li>
<li>Familiarity with Model Context Protocol servers and related approaches for connecting AI agents securely to internal systems, APIs, databases and business tools.</li></ul>

The Team
Citi&rsquo;s Equities Technology organisation is investing in front-office quantitative development to support the Derivatives Flow, Delta 1, and Exotics desks.
We are hiring a hands-on Quantitative Developer to build data-driven, model-led trading analytics and desk tooling for Sales, Trading, and Quant teams, supporting pricing, signal generation, backtesting, risk analysis, and real-time market insight.
Role Overview
<ul><li>You will work directly with traders, quants, and structurers to design and deliver production-grade tools for the front office.</li>
<li>Build trading analytics and desk tools for the Derivatives Flow, Delta 1, and Exotics businesses. Partner with traders and quants to productionise models and analytical workflows</li>
<li>Build real-time pricing, risk, and market data analytics to support positions, Greeks, P&amp;L, exposures, and execution monitoring.</li>
<li>Develop backtesting and simulation frameworks for equity derivatives and structured products.</li>
<li>Create data pipelines and services for market data, trade data and derived analytics.</li>
<li>Deliver tools for trade idea generation, volatility analysis, flow analysis, basket/index analytics, and hedging support.</li>
<li>Improve the desk technology stack through reusable libraries, APIs, and robust engineering practices.</li>
<li>Optimise performance, scalability, and reliability of quantitative applications.</li>
</ul>Skills required:
<ul><li>Python data engineering stack: Pandas/Parquet/FastAPI/Jupyter/Airflow/Streamlit/Ray</li>
<li>Experience with high-performance data stores and query engines like Trino/Snowflake</li>
<li>Experience with financial concepts such as Equities / Options / Futures</li>
<li>Demonstrable evidence using agentic frameworks for Software development and experience with AI-native solutions using context engineering techniques.</li>
<li>A degree in quantitative subjects such as Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering</li>
</ul>Skills desired:
<ul><li>Experience with real-time streaming analytics tech like Kafka / Flink</li>
<li>Experience with cloud container technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes</li>
