The designee is responsible for guiding and assisting host nation in the overall the safe and orderly flow of air traffic within their designated airspace. This designee maintains situational awareness of the overall flow of air traffic operations at the facility assigned and is responsible for all ATC facility operations and services during their shift. Rules of separation must be applied to achieve the required separation as outlined in FAA manuals and orders. The designee coordinates with various controllers and personnel to relay information which pertains to the aircraft and in the interest of safety of flight including emergency information. The individual is responsible for vehicles and personnel operating on the airfield- when operating in a control tower environment. Along with controlling aircraft the designee must be able to process flight plans and supervise approach, departure, and arrival procedures. Knowledge of ATC rules, regulations, and techniques; control tower and approach control operations. Tower controllers shall hold one of the following tower certifications: FAA Control Tower Operator (CTO) certificate, FAA or AOV Credential with Tower rating, or equivalent. Radar controllers shall hold one of the following radar certifications: Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) certificate, FAA or AOV Credential with Radar rating, FAA or DoD training records, or equivalent.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Class II Medical Certificate</li>
