Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) is searching for a communications and public relations professional whose primary focus will be helping to execute strategic communication plans to increase awareness, promote engagement, and build the reputation of the organization. Key Responsibilities:

Regularly update EMPath database of local and national media contacts.</li><li>

Stay abreast of local/national media and contribute ideas for media coverage.</li><li>
Collaborate with Communications and PR Manager maintaining EMPath&rsquo;s social media properties (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky). Includes writing and designing posts.</li><li>
Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers, and videographers when needed.</li><li>
Perform other duties to support the Advancement team as directed by the Sr. Director of Communications, as needed.</li></ul><p><b>
Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.</li><li>
1&ndash;2 years of relevant experience in nonprofit, agency, or mission-driven settings preferred.</li><li>
Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Experience with media relations helpful, but not required.</li><li>
Proficiency in digital tools such as email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), CMS (e.g., WordPress), and social media management tools.</li><li>

Communications Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Assist with drafting press releases and internal communications materials, including briefs, newsletters, or talking points</p></li><li><p>
Monitor media coverage and compile daily or weekly news summaries for the communications team</p></li><li><p>
Help track social media engagement and report basic performance metrics to the communications staff</p></li><li><p>
Assist with content creation for social media, including graphics, short videos, or captions</p></li><li><p>

Work Schedule:</b></p><p>
The internship program will allow you to work Monday through Friday (except for holidays) for a minimum of 15 hours to a maximum of 37.5 hours a work week from June to August over a 10-week timeframe. You must also be able to travel to the Boston Office location a minimum of 1-2 times a week based on your work schedule.</p><p>
Please note that the exact schedule will be determined after a discussion with the direct supervisor.</p><p><b>
Compensation:</b></p><ul><li><p>
High School Interns: $20/hour</p></li><li><p>
Undergraduate Interns: $22/hour</p></li><li><p>
Graduate Interns: $24/hour</p></li></ul><p><b>
