The Division of Newborn Medicine is seeking to hire a computational scientist to lead data analysis across a range of projects in collaboration with faculty across the Division. The Division is home to scientists in genomics and biology associated with brain, lung, heart, and intestinal development and disease. We are seeking an experienced data scientist who is highly organized, a strong communicator, independent and curious problem solver, and capable of managing several tasks simultaneously. Bioinformatics projects will include data from single cell/nucleus and spatial transcriptomics, RNA-seq, genome sequencing, ribosome profiling, among others. The successful candidate will be comfortable with the use of high-performance computing infrastructure, Bash scripting, R, Python, and other approaches. Candidates must have a PhD in data sciences, bioinformatics, or a related field.<br>
<b>Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
Perform detailed computational analysis of varied data types, including single cell/nucleus sequencing, genome sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, ribosome profiling, among others. Execute standard computational pipelines and customize as needed based on project goals. Works effectively in a high performance computing environment with multiple coding languages.</li><li>
Provides input to the overall research design to suggest techniques, maximize samples or refine data by the use of specialized techniques.</li><li>

The Senior Research Coordinator will also contribute to development of a study protocol manuscript for public posting. They will be responsible for coordinating routine activities for the study, including data maintenance, scheduling meetings with international collaborators, and maintaining other routine communications. Relevant skills include strong knowledge of use of Excel for data management, prior use of data entry platforms such as RedCap or EpiCollect, and good writing and communication skills. The Senior Research Coordinator will have the opportunity to contribute to manuscripts in development from related projects focused on tuberculosis medication adherence and treatment outcomes.</div><br>

What We're Looking For:

Basic Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years&rsquo; experience in a clinical research setting</li><li>
Experience with Excel and strong writing skills are mandatory.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Preferred Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
MPH or MSc in a public health field, especially global health, is preferred.
</li><li>Prior experience in TB research is preferred.
</li><li>Given that study interactions will take place with international teams, including teams in India, knowledge of Tamil or other Indian languages may be helpful though not mandatory</li></ul></div>
