<div><p>A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in Dr. Chih-Chi Andrew Hu&rsquo;s laboratory with a research focus on Immune Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Drug Discovery. This position focuses on the study of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated stress signaling molecules and their roles in survival, metastasis and chemoresistance of cancer. A key component of this effort is the identification and development of small molecules and peptides targeting the ER stress response pathways for the treatment of cancer. We are especially interested in candidates who are in the final stage of their doctoral training and have a strong background in protein chemistry (molecular cloning and column chromatography) and in the development of new biochemical assays during doctoral training. The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston is seeking a postdoctoral researcher who would further develop their skills in the acquisition and interpretation of isotope data and advance their leadership and management experience.

The candidate is expected to:<br>

<ul><li>Apply clean-lab chemical preparation and thermal-ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS) techniques to the measurement of stable and radiogenic isotope ratios across a wide variety of natural and experimental samples and
</li><li>Apply geochemical modelling techniques to the processing and interpretation of existing isotopic data.
</li><li>Lead in the development and submission of high-quality research manuscripts and develop competitive grant-writing skills through the submission of grant applications to Federal agencies.
</li><li>Engage in the scientific community through the presentation of research results at universities and national/ international conferences.
</li><li>Assist the PI in mentoring/training of graduate students and in the leadership and management of the TIMS lab and related facilities.</li></ul>
