 Job Description
 
 
 
 Wet Utilities Design Engineer will be responsible for designing water supply, firefighting, irrigation, stormwater, and wastewater networks in accordance with Oman authority standards. The role requires strong technical skills in hydraulic design, preparation of construction documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. This position is ideal for an engineer with around 5 years of experience in wet utilities design for infrastructure or development projects.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Prepare detailed designs for water supply, TSE/irrigation, wastewater, and stormwater networks in line with Oman authority regulations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, network modeling, and design layouts using relevant engineering software.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare drawings, design reports, BOQs, technical notes, and specifications for tender and construction phases.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of wet utility systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review topographical surveys, hydrological studies, and geotechnical data to inform design decisions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct wet utility network modeling (e.g., EPANET, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD or equivalent).

 Qualifications

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

 Minimum 5 years of experience in wet utilities design, preferably within infrastructure or urban development projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of Oman authority standards for water supply, sewerage, stormwater, and irrigation systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency in design and modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, EPANET, or similar.
 </li>
 <li>
 Good understanding of hydraulic principles, pipe material specifications, manhole design, and pumping system basics.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience preparing design documentation, reports, and BOQs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.

 What you'll do: Operate the platform's polyglot databases at national scale, fast, resilient, recoverable, and infused with AI/ML/DL/RL
 
 
 Key Responsibilities:
 
 Operate enterprise PostgreSQL as the primary transactional database across the platform, and tune it for performance under national load
 
 Design and run high availability, replication, and failover, with backup, recovery, and tested point in time restore
 
 Operate the vector databases behind the platform's AI: Milvus for large scale retrieval and RAG, and pgvector for vectors co-located in PostgreSQL
 
 Operate the graph database (Neo4j) for case correlation and entity relationships, and the search engine (Elasticsearch) for hybrid and full text search
 
 Run the specialized PostgreSQL workloads in production: geospatial (PostGIS), time series (TimescaleDB), and document (JSONB)

<ul><li>Lead technical review and approval of Solar PV mounting structure foundation systems, including driven steel piles, screw piles, concrete poured-in-place footings and hybrid foundation solutions. 
</li></ul><ul><li>Review pile design calculations for vertical load capacity, lateral load capacity, pull-out resistance and settlement under PV tracker and fixed-tilt structural loading. 
</li></ul><ul><li>Evaluate pile installation specifications: pile driving or torque installation criteria, termination criteria, load testing requirements and pile acceptance criteria. 
</li></ul><ul><li>Review fixed-tilt and single-axis tracker (SAT) mounting structure designs for structural adequacy under wind, gravity, seismic and construction loads. 
</li></ul><ul><li>Assess mounting structure design for fatigue, wind-induced vibration and terrain-specific conditions including sloped terrain, rocky ground and sandy soils.
