The role will be responsible for managing the school&rsquo;s Google Workspace for Education platform, acting as the system administrator for related services, and providing technical support across all major school technology systems and devices.

 Duties &amp; Responsibilities
 
 
 
 You will have the opportunity to provide our internal workforce with infrastructure-related support, resolving tickets related to hardware (Motherboard, RAM, CPU, GPU, etc.) and networking tickets (Link Down, Optics Replacements, Switch Replacements, etc.).
 
 
 In addition to hardware and network repair, interns will learn how to install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix complex problems within the data centre space.
 
 
 
 Duties Include

 Hardware troubleshooting in servers which are not live with an AWS technician's supervision
 </li>
 <li>
 Understand the importance of meeting SLA's against assigned trouble tickets
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow the AWS technicians during network troubleshooting
 </li>

 Replace Media (SSD/HDD) according to AWS Data Tech guidance
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc.) under the guidance of experienced techs
 </li>

 Interact with third-party vendors and contractors who are working on site

 Internship Structure

 Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Engineering Operations Technician Interns to join our expanding Data Center team. This internship is designed as a potential pathway to full-time employment. Interns who demonstrate strong performance throughout their internship and are successful upon completion may be considered for a full-time Engineering Operations Technician position, subject to available open roles and business needs at that time.

 If you are currently in your final year of studies in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, we want to hear from you. Upon successful completion of your 12-week internship, you may commence as a full-time employee by the end of 2026, aligned with your graduation.
 
 
 Internship start dates are flexible from April to October 2026. Transition to a full-time role is subject to successful performance during the internship, role availability, and business needs.

 About The Role
 
 
 
 As an intern, you will provide technical support to Amazon within its owned and operated data centers. This position involves ensuring that the data center's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers. All interns will be exposed to both independent work and team-based collaboration. Work prioritisation, organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.
 
 
 
 Duties &amp; Responsibilities
 
 
 
 The Engineering Operations team is Amazon's front-line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. You will work with equipment that supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD's, and building automation systems.
 
 
 
 Duties Include
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with root cause analysis of equipment failures
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA
 </li>
 <li>
 Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
 </li>
 <li>
 Utilise internal CMMS to manage building workflows
 </li>
 <li>
 Interact with third-party vendors and contractors who are working on site
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Physical Requirements

 Work at heights and from ladders
 </li>
 <li>
 Regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unassisted and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more

 Internship Structure
 
 
 
 Amazon internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks. This position requires the intern to report to work onsite on a daily basis. Interns will work on a rotating shift pattern, which may include days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
 
 
 Interns who successfully complete the internship and demonstrate strong performance may be considered for a full-time Engineering Operations Technician position, subject to role availability and business needs. Full-time Engineering Operations Technician roles continue to operate on a rotating shift pattern, which may include days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
