Position Summary:</b></div><div>
The Project Manager, Engineering &amp; Architecture position reports to the Vice President of Engineering &amp; Architecture in the Asset Management Department. The position conducts physical inspections for properties in HDC&rsquo;s portfolio, including reviewing Reserve for Replacement requests, managing agents, and insurance loss claims; design reviews; rehabilitation plan and cost reviews; and construction monitoring of occupied rehabilitation projects.</div><div>

This role is critical in ensuring the long-term sustainability and safety of HDC&rsquo;s housing portfolio, directly impacting resident&rsquo;s quality of life.</div><div>
</div><div><b>
Job Responsibilities:</b></div><ul><li>
Perform comprehensive Annual Physical, Reserve for Replacement (RFR), LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and Insurance inspections of projects in HDC&rsquo;s portfolio.</li><li>
Conduct inspections in accordance with NSPIRE (National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate).</li><li>
Analyze and assess building conditions.</li><li>
Process Reserve for Replacement Requests for project&rsquo;s capital needs.</li><li>
Evaluate the performance, compliance, and maintenance practices of managing agents.</li><li>
Prepare written reports describing findings of existing conditions and recommendations for management and ownership.</li><li>
Review and assess owner responses to existing condition findings and determine the acceptability of proposed remediation.</li><li>
Complete plan and cost reviews of rehabilitation scopes of work to advise financing team.</li><li>
Monitor construction progress and review construction requisitions.</li><li>
Participate in evaluating initiatives and policies affecting the physical strength of HDC&rsquo;s portfolio and identify possible risks to the portfolio.</li><li>
Serve as HDC&rsquo;s representative during interactions with borrowers, their representatives, business partners, and other agencies.</li><li>
Frequent travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City by mass transit or corporation provided vehicle (subject to availability).</li></ul><div>

Required Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.</li><li>
4-6 years relevant experience<b> </b><b>in engineering, architecture, or construction management.</b></li><li>
Knowledge of NYC building codes, multi-family residential construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building conveyance systems.</li><li>
Strong analytical skills for evaluating building conditions and compliance issues.</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.</li><li>
Ability to prepare detailed reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools.</li></ul><div>

Preferred Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Knowledge of housing regulations, and inspection standards.</li><li>
Knowledge of Federal, State, and New York City affordable housing programs.</li><li>
Experience with property inspections, preferably in multifamily housing or similar settings.</li><li>
Foundational understanding of construction management including, but not limited to, meeting participation, roles of trades, requisitioning process, and means and methods.</li><li>
Driver&rsquo;s license preferred but not required.</li></ul><div>
