Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and certified MHE and Vehicle Mechanic to support our maintenance operations. This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles and material handling equipment, including forklifts, loaders, trucks, and other heavy machinery. The mechanic will work closely with the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
Roles and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Perform routine and emergency maintenance on vehicles and MHE.</li><li>
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and execute repairs.</li><li>
Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance in accordance with company and regulatory standards.</li><li>
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts usage.</li><li>
Assist the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor in scheduling and prioritizing maintenance tasks.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.</li><li>
Operate diagnostic tools and equipment.</li><li>
Support inventory management of tools and spare parts.</li></ul>
Basic/Required Qualifications
<ul><li>High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance.</li><li>
Valid Heavy Equipment Mechanic Certification (e.g., NCCER, ASE Heavy Truck, or equivalent).</li><li>
ASE Certification for automotive systems preferred or required.</li><li>
EPA Section 609 Certification for air conditioning systems (preferred).</li><li>
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.</li><li>
Proficient in using diagnostic software and tools.</li><li>
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
Must be fluent in English.</li><li>
Must possess a US passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.</li><li>
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with multiple interruptions/distractions</li></ul>
Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Work in various environments including outdoors, in workshops, and around heavy machinery.</li><li>
