The Research Coordinator II will play a key role in coordinating a study focused on the effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) on height growth suppression in adolescents. This study is part of a new research initiative in the lab of Dr. Chadi Calarge. The Research Coordinator II will be responsible for preparing necessary research documentation, managing participant recruitment, and conducting research visits and data collection, among other essential duties.</p><p></p><p><br>
This position is based at the Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) facility located at 8080 N Stadium Dr, Houston, Texas 77054. The role may require travel to other locations; therefore, a valid driver&rsquo;s license is necessary. To accommodate meetings with child and adolescent participants outside of school hours, the position may occasionally be scheduled outside of standard business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Job Duties</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>
Develop and prepare research materials, including forms, questionnaires, and study protocols.</li><li>
Administer surveys and forms using the web-based platform Qualtrics.</li><li>
Prepare and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and maintain all required regulatory documentation.</li><li>
Review patient lists from the Texas Children's Hospital System&rsquo;s electronic medical record system to identify potential participants.</li><li>
Screen potential participants for eligibility and recruit them into the study.</li><li>
Advertise the study in psychiatric clinics outside the Texas Children's Hospital System, if necessary, to meet recruitment goals.</li><li>
Schedule and conduct in-person research visits with participants.</li><li>
Coordinate necessary procedures, such as hand and wrist radiographs and follow-up phone calls to collect data.</li><li>
Organize and maintain accurate records of study data.</li><li>
Conduct data quality checks to ensure the integrity of the research process.</li><li>
Assist with literature reviews to support ongoing research efforts.</li><li>
Contribute to manuscript preparation and publication of study findings.</li><li>
Performs other job duties as assigned.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Minimum Qualifications</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.</li><li>
