Senior Accountant

Role Summary

The Senior Accountant is tasked with entering data and keeping precise records of financial transactions, creating financial reports, analyzing financial data, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable. This role involves preparing tax returns, aiding in audit preparations, and carrying out additional accounting responsibilities as needed. The position is integral to ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting activities and to maintain a sound financial control environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions in Tally accounting software

• Prepare and process invoices, bills, vouchers, and other accounting documents in a timely manner.

• Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

• Handle basic banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.

• Recording, updating, and maintaining documentation of fixed assets in the organization.

• Ensure compliance with STPI/GST regulations by accurately recording and reporting GST transactions.

• Assist in the preparation and filing of GST returns, including data compilation and reconciliation.

• Maintain records of TDS deductions and prepare TDS returns as per regulatory requirements.

• Handle e-invoicing processes, including generation, validation, and transmission of electronic invoices.

• Familiar with statutory compliance payment & returns like PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity and Bonus.

• During financial audits (India & US), to provide support by gathering and presenting relevant financial documents and records and assist to address any queries or concerns raised by auditors during the process.

• Support the finance team in various ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.

• Understand and adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System and the Information Security Management System.

Requirements

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

• Proficient computer skills including with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or related software.
