Roles of a Senior Accountant

1. Financial Management – Ensure accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of financial data.

2. Team Leadership – Supervise junior accountants and guide them in day-to-day accounting tasks.

3. Compliance Oversight – Ensure all accounting practices comply with legal regulations and company policies.

4. Decision Support – Provide management with financial insights to support strategic decisions.

5. Audit Coordination – Act as the key contact for internal and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow).

Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely settlements.

Handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.

Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

Prepare and file tax returns, GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Maintain proper internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.

Support management reporting with analysis of financial performance.

Guide and train junior staff in accounting standards and procedures.

Coordinate with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities when required.

A Senior Accountant is essentially the bridge between the finance team and management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and meaningful financial insights.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
