Responsibilities
Supervision responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Providing guidance and support to other departments on financial matters.
- Responsible to supervise, monitor and evaluate all day-to-day accounting activities. Establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information.
- Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Administration responsibilities
- Managing the company''s financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monitoring and reconciling bank accounts and other financial transactions.
- Collaborating with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing effective accounting procedures.
- Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Reconciliation of bank statement, making supplier payments.
- Maintain good business relationships with the counterparts in the vendors companies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Technical responsibilities
- Conducting financial analysis and providing recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Ensuring compliance with local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Responsible for preparation of monthly profit & Loss account and Balance sheet.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
General responsibilities
- To ensure that the GL is up to date and reconciled.
- To process all documents and maintain supporting records under his purview accurately and timely.
- Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor in order to ensure that flow of work is continuous and adequate relief is provided.
- Several years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with progressive responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of Qatar''s financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Knowledge of Principles, Policies and Internal processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in English is typically required, and knowledge of Arabic may be beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment .
