Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage accounting operations with a strong focus on production and contracting activities. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring accurate financial reporting, project costing, and full compliance with IFRS and Qatar regulations, while supporting finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets using Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Handle project and contract accounting, including job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, variations, and claims
• Monitor and control production and project costs, including materials, labor, and overheads
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports and schedules in line with IFRS
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Ensure compliance with Qatar Tax Law, MOCI requirements, and other statutory obligations
• Assist in corporate tax, withholding tax, and Zakat (where applicable)
• Coordinate with auditors and support audit processes
• Ensure payroll compliance with Qatar Labour Law and WPS
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare cost variance analysis and profitability reports
• Coordinate with project managers, production, and procurement teams
• Guide and support junior accounting staff as required

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred
• More than 8 years of accounting experience in production and contracting companies
• Mandatory hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations)
• Strong knowledge of project costing, BOQs, WIP, and contract-based revenue recognition
• Solid understanding of IFRS and Qatar tax and commercial regulations
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
• Qatar or GCC experience is highly preferred
